On most of these deals I end up saying, "man, I can't believe a year has passed already"......not this one.
It seems like he's been gone a looooong time, and the year and duck season just kind of hung on, and I missed John every day of it.....I suspect that'll just be how it is with this.

Yesterday, I drove by his house. When I got home there was ants on my kitchen counter.
I think John knew I was in the area. 
I miss the brother something awful.

miss that call once a month he would ask what I was planting . I knew dam well if I didn't say brown top I would get a 20 min talk on how I should lol and he never made it down for ducks only goose and my head would hurt for 3 days

Haven't been on 'puter for some time but I agree with everything that has been said. Hot sauce bottles and Skyy will always be in my memory banks. They broke the mold after John was made. The times I got to spend with him were real hoots. RIP, Amigo.
